One of the little known, hottest Halloween spots is Tamarindo, a city on the Pacific Ocean in Costa Rica. The whole town joins in with locals and tourists alike to celebrate. Costumes are all the rage at parties at all the local bars and in private homes.
Tamarindo for Halloween
There are a few things that are consistently taken very seriously in Tamarindo and one of the biggest things is their annual Halloween party. You’ll find plenty of websites on the web to advise you on the finer ways to turn ordinary things into a spectacular costume for the Playa Tamarindo festivities. The local wild Halloween crabs are always dressed for party success.
Kids take part in the fun, too. This holiday isn’t for adults only. It is a bit different than what is celebrated in The States, though. Usually a group of parents get together and organize a Trick-or-Treat activity for a route of just their own homes and then a party for all in the group.
Costumes are taken very seriously and you’ll find that many take full advantage of the magic of theatrical makeup. There are no shortages of zombies and Calaveras. You’ll need to be dressed to perfection to win one or more of those costume contests the local businesses run. Although, rumor has it that one guy won 3 contests dressed in only his white undies and a gas mask. Walter White would have been proud, may he rest in TV show heaven in peace.
Casa de Luz
Parties can go late into the night and if you’re not a party animal then you’ll want to have a quiet place to stay nearby. Casa de Luz is an affordable luxury beach villa just 5 minutes down the beach from Playa Tamarindo. So, when the party is done for you, just take a refreshing walk along the shoreline and up to your ocean view room for a peaceful night’s sleep.
