There are numerous fun activities in Costa Rica for the couples that are traveling the country for the first time. With so many options to explore, you might be tempted to extend your stay to get it all in.
Fun Activities in Costa Rica
Of course, everyone knows about the jungle canopy zipline and watching monkeys, but there are some odd and unique things to see and do that are fun activities in Costa Rica, too.
San Lucas Island Prison Graffiti
In 1991, the San Lucas Island Prison stopped housing Costa Rica’s most notorious criminals. The prisoners didn’t have paints or chalk, so they used whatever they could fashion into an art tool to express themselves on the cell walls. Take a stroll through 120 years of their thoughts of religion, sex, hopes, dreams and the life they had left behind at home.
Diquís Spheres
These stone spheres have been coming up from underground everywhere in Costa Rica and nobody knows what they are. The spheres are judged as having been created from 700 CE – 1530 CE and have been making their way up in people’s yards and fields. Some have kept them as yard ornaments, but others have been taken to the Costa Rica National Museum in San Jose. The spheres have been mentioned on the TV show “Ancient Aliens.”
Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve
Walk through a protected, misty, rain forest and see over 100 mammals, over 400 birds, and over 2500 plant species on your day walk. It is recommended that you take the protected skywalk or zipline through this reserve in order to avoid the crowds.
Casa de Luz
When you’re staying at Casa de Luz with your group of friends, we can help you plan fun activities in Costa Rica.
