Eco Friendly Villa Rental

There are many ways that Casa de Luz keeps the villa in tune with nature and helps to preserve the environment.

It isn’t enough that we use biodegradable and environmentally friendly household cleaners and laundry soap. We have also spent a great deal of money and effort on solar energy to run the villa.

The villa roof keeps our visitors and tourists cooler in the hot, tropical environment by having a layer of insulating material underneath the solar panels. This makes using air conditioning unnecessary quite often.

When our villa is empty, we sell our excess solar panel derived energy to the grid. Our energy is put to good use even when we are not in need of it. When our villa is rented, we start using our own energy from the panels once again.

Casa de Luz is on a septic system, as it most of Costa Rica. But we went the extra steps of installing extra septic tanks for various parts of the villa. This allows us to process kitchen water differently than the waste from the bathrooms, for example. We can optimally process our waste from various sewage locations of the villa rental to protect the environment.
