Casa de Luz is the only Eco-friendly villa in the Tamarindo, Costa Rica, area. We are very proud to be running our villa’s operations on solar power! We recently installed 80 solar panels on 12 roof planes and it sometimes comes very close to meeting our day’s demand for energy. Of course, it depends on how large of a group has rented the villa, but we are definitely covering half or more of our energy use on a daily basis.

We know that many groups that come to Costa Rica to visit are very ecologically minded. Costa Rica is that kind of place. About 25% of the land in the country is protected by the government and 10% of the world’s biodiversity resides in those areas. This attracts thousands of tourist to the country to explore the rainforest and see the protected species of plants and animals.

We are very proud to own and operate Casa de Luz which sits right next to one of those protected, natural reserves. We do what we can to keep our villa operating as safely as possible in the natural environment. It is our goal to make as little of an impact as possible while allowing tour groups an environmentally friendly place to stay.
