The Costa Rica best beaches can be found on the Pacific side of this gorgeous Central American country. This is the area that the tourists frequent whether they are locals on vacation or foreigners taking a holiday. But, which of those beaches are the best?
Costa Rica Best Beaches
Judging by where the locals tend to congregate when on vacation, the Costa Rica best beaches are spread up and down the coast of the Pacific Ocean. How to decide which beach is the best will depend on what you’d like to get out of a beach.
If you’re looking for an early morning dip in the ocean, any of the beaches will be spectacular in the mornings. You’re likely to be alone with the crabs and other critters that run along the beach when it is empty.
When you are looking to be one with nature and see the awesomeness and power that the Pacific can be, the protected rain forest park, Manuel Antonio National Park, is the place to visit. The park has four different natural beaches and allows only 600 visitors at a time, so you’ll need to get there early and book a place to stay before arriving in Quepos.
In Tamarindo there are two very popular beaches for swimming, surfing and play. Playa Grande offers tide pools which are a favorite with eco-tourists, but there is also plenty of swimming and fun in the water at this beach. Playa Avellanas is the surfer’s hot spot. There is a lot of activity watch while you kick back on the beach to relax and work on your tan.
